Meet the Team

Your GLI staff serves as a resource to students and can address concerns ranging from academic policy to personal support services.

  • Jesse Driscoll

    Jesse Driscoll

    Chair

    Professor Jesse Driscoll has been with School since 2010. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University. His research focus is in the areas of comparative politics, international relations, civil war, voting and central Asia. As chair, his primary roles are to act as a liaison with faculty and to advocate for GLI’s constituents and programs.

  • Grace Osborne

    Grace oversees executive education for professionals and study abroad programs for incoming students and researchers at the School. She manages day-to-day operations and fiscal planning and analysis and is responsible for development and implementation of educational programming at the Global Leadership Institute. She has worked nearly 20 years in higher education. In addition to her position at GPS, Grace is chair of the board for the Latin American Arts Council at The San Diego Museum of Art. Prior to her career in educational administration, she worked in Lisbon, Portugal in public relations for a Portuguese television network as liaison to foreign governments and businesses. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and cultural anthropology from the University of San Diego and is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and French.

  • Janaye Barker

    Assistant Director for Executive Programs

    Janaye is the Assistant Director for Executive Programs at GPS, where she provides administrative support to prospective and current students and is responsible for program marketing efforts. Janaye is also responsible for academic advising and coordinating special events. She has worked with international students at EF International Language School and Kaplan International and was an academic personnel coordinator at UC Santa Barbara with the Classics and East Asian Departments. Janaye received her B.A. in Sociology and Spanish from UC Santa Barbara and her M.A. in Postsecondary Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Student Affairs from San Diego State University. She also holds a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certification from UC Santa Barbara Extension.

  • Greg Mallinger

    Greg Mallinger

    Assistant Director for Partnership Initiatives

    Greg is the Assistant Director for Partnership Initiatives. He manages the fellow programs at both the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies and the Cowhey Center on Global Transformation. In his role, he cultivates existing relationships with former fellows and identifies new opportunities for growth in executive education programming. Greg holds an MIA from GPS and a B.A. in international relations from UC Davis.

  • Courtney Chang

    Courtney Chang

    Certificate/Non-degree Program Coordinator

    Courtney collaborates on the day-to-day operations of GLI, advises professionals and students in our quarterly certificate programs, provides support to GLI professors and instructors, and organizes GLI professional tours, seminars and social/networking events. She worked most recently as a Program Coordinator for the Synthesis Program at UC San Diego's Seventh College. Previously, Courtney worked in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Southern California. Courtney earned a B.A. in Communication from UC San Diego, an M.A. Ed. in Higher Education Leadership and Administration from Trident University International and an M.Ed. in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from University of Southern California.

    Dan manages the day-to-day administrative and operational needs for GLI programming to ensure smooth functioning, effective use of financial resources and compliance with policies and regulations. He oversees implementation of organizational procedures, provides financial tracking and database management and participates in a variety of marketing initiatives. He has over 10 years’ experience in business management and operations, helping run SMEs in Massachusetts and California. Dan earned his B.A. in Neuroscience from UC Santa Cruz.
