U.S. Military Service Members and Veterans

Our School is well positioned to serve the educational needs of active duty military personnel and reserve officers who are allowed time away from service to obtain an advanced degree, and veterans have the opportunity to translate their experience and acquire new skills.

Whether you are continuing with your military service or transitioning into a civilian career, our curriculum focuses on the need to have a comprehensive worldview, with a strong understanding of how public policy, management and international interactions shape strategic decision-making.

UC San Diego is an approved civilian institution for the Navy’s Political-Military National Security/International Relations and Diplomacy 2300 Subspecialty 680 curriculum; the Security of the Asia-Pacific track fulfills these curricular ESRs. Details are available at the NPS CIVINS website. GPS is also a Yellow Ribbon School.

Fee Waiver

UC San Diego offers a graduate application fee waiver to all U.S. veterans and active duty U.S. military personnel. Contact us for more information.

Prep Program
