Mateo Vásquez-Cortés

Assistant Professor

Mateo Vásquez-Cortés is an assistant professor of political science at the School of Global Policy and Strategy. His research is in applied political economy, focusing on conflict processes, identity and migration in the context of Latin America. A native of Medellín, Colombia, Vásquez-Cortés earned his B.A. and M.A. in philosophy from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a B.A. in economics from Universidad Externado de Colombia. He received a Ph.D. in political science from New York University. Before joining GPS, he was an assistant professor of political science at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
