Call to Action: Spring 2017

Beyond the basics of joining your regional club and subscribing to the School’s e-newsletters, peruse a few timely ways to get involved and stay connected this quarter.

1. Submit your alumni board nominations by July 4

Board NominationsThe GPS Alumni Board has openings for several new members. Nominations are now closed.

Submissions will be reviewed by the current board at a special meeting in summer 2017. Selected board members agree to serve for two years and participate in quarterly meetings, either in person or virtually, as well as serve on one of the five subcommittees.

2. Return to campus for Alumni Weekend

Alumni WeekendUC San Diego Alumni Weekend is June 8-11, and GPS is slotting in a special reunion event on Saturday, June 10. All GPS and ISP alumni are encouraged to attend, especially those celebrating quinquennial milestones, as select cohorts are coordinating class-specific events throughout the weekend.

Contact Career Services to introduce your hiring manager to the School and to coordinate a site visit for current students.

4. Be a champion for GPS through social media

Social MediaWhile we have your eyes on a screen, go ahead and follow the School on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and be sure to add GPS to your LinkedIn profile and join our LinkedIn group.

Take your online engagement a step further by sharing one of the School’s recent posts, tagging us in a photo with classmates or by posting an update or relevant professional advice and articles to the LinkedIn alumni group.

5. Invite GPS faculty, students or alumni to an event

Alumni EventsNothing beats face-to-face networking, and we want to ensure our current students and alumni are in front of the best people and opportunities.

If you know of a local panel, conference of function that could be of interest to fellow classmates or benefit from GPS expertise, alert your regional club leader.
